De’Shondria Bedenfield

De’Shondria has broad experience in the K-12 education policy and funding arenas, grassroots advocacy, community engagement, the state appropriations process, and local government.

She most recently worked at the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) advocating on behalf of local school board members. During her five years with the statewide education leadership organization, De’Shondria transitioned from Policy Analyst and Grassroots Coordinator to Assistant Director of Government Relations. While at MASB, De’Shondria traveled all over the state, helping teach elected School Board members how to develop local advocacy networks and how to communicate effectively with state and federal lawmakers. Prior to working at MASB, Bedenfield worked with Isabella County government.

De’Shondria is a graduate of Central Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Minor in Public Administration. She is also an alum of Michigan State University’s Education Policy Fellowship Program.

In her spare time, she volunteers with several community organizations as a member of the Junior League of Lansing and loves to catch the latest films on the big screen.
